Being able to identify and acknowledge the needs and interests of our pupils will help them boost their self-esteem. If pupils would feel that we understand their interests then it would be easier for them to cope with the learning process. They are comfortable in participating in learning activities and would surely enjoy it. In my personal opinion,aside from teaching the concepts, it is also important to teach social skills.  We can always go back and review concepts learned, but character  and social skills are lifelong skills that are applied in everyday life.
