Chapter IV: THE SAME THING

From the moment the child left the house, every time the master was going to talk to Scott, someone from the town interrupted them. Other people were going to require Andrew for something, or they brought him small gifts such as: potatoes, lettuce and so on as a thankfulness for some help Andrew had given them. Day and night passed. The master cut the vegetables and put the broth in the fire while kneading the bread with great dedication for the other day. They ate and went to bed.
The other days were the same. They spent hours going from one place to another, helping or visiting the townspeople. They worked in the little garden, fed the chickens and gathered their eggs. They gave food to those people who needed it.
One night, between the master's deep breath and the discomfort accumulated by Scott for not learning nothing new, He was circled in his bed without being able to sleep. He did not know if to leave or stay. Finally, next day, almost early in the morning, Scott decided to try for another day, and so, at dawn, the master got up, stretched and started to light the fire for breakfast.
He put the water to heat, the bread to cook, and sat on the bench to look out the window.
That's how the young man found him when he woke up. He realized that everything was going to continue the same as the previous days. Therefore, he had accumulated anger, he got bad sleep and burst:
- “I came to seek wisdom, to understand the things of life, to learn to live better, and what I have found is someone with a common life. I would say vulgar, who is not even able to have a moment to reflect and thank the creator for everything he received from him!”

He had lived alone for many years and liked the idea of having someone with whom to share his time again.
Next morning, Andrew and Scott got up and lit the fire to heat water and cook the bread they had left prepared a night before. While they were waiting for breakfast to be ready, Andrew sat on a bench and stared out the window. The apprentice, standing behind him, was trying to look at the same place as his master to find out what he was looking so focused on.
Through the window, you could only see the field, wildflowers, the chicken coop and some dogs receiving the first rays of the sun. A few minutes later, the young man got bored and sat down. He took a book from his backpack and began to read. However, at every moment he became distracted and thought how the teacher could waste time without doing nothing.
When the smell of bread flooded the room, the teacher got up. He prepared the tea, placed two jugs on the table and the put a piece of bread on a napkin. He sat down, motioned with his hand to the apprentice to do the same, and began to eat the bread by cutting it into small pieces and dipping them in hot tea. Scott was amazed because the teacher had forgotten to thank the food.

Chapter V: THE BIG LESSON

The master looked at him with sad eyes. That was an expression that Scott had never seen before. And he replied:
- “When I look out the morning at the window, I see the flowers, smell their perfume and that way, using my eyes and my nose to enjoy what was done for us, I praise it. The field and the chicken coop are the ones that offer us daily food and, looking at them. I have nothing but I thank for life. Dogs resting, remind me that they spent the whole night watching over us while we slept! This, necessarily, always leads me to thank those who, and without resting, have their eyes on us to accompany us, to take care of us and to make us happy. That fills me with joy and peace. I don't need anything else, because I'm sure they are with me. Every person who knocks on my door makes me feel useful, necessary and loved. Every time I receive a small gift from the humble people of the village. I feel that whoever gives it to me, is using the hands of others and reminds me that God has been good with me”.
Scott was so grateful for that big lesson.
Later, the apprentice met a girl and he fell in love of her. They got married and formed a family.
One day, when he was returning from working in the field, he saw his children playing from afar. He approached slowly and from behind a tree stared. He was discovered by his wife watching their children playing and she asked him:
- “What are you doing here?”
- “I am looking at the greatest wonder that God has given us. I learned that from a great person, a big master”.
