Seek knowledge purely for the sake of Allah, not for fame, argumentation, or showing off.

The Prophet said:

Whoever seeks knowledge to compete with the scholars, or to argue with the ignorant, or to turn people’s faces towards him, Allah will enter him into Hell. (Ibn Majah)

2. Humility (Tawadhu)

Do not be arrogant in seeking knowledge; acknowledge that you do not know everything.

Even the angels humbled themselves before Adam (AS) when Allah taught him.

3. Respecting Teachers

Listen attentively, avoid interrupting, and show gratitude.

Imam Shafie’e said: Iwould flip the pages of my book so softly in front of my teacher out of respect for him.

4. Acting Upon Knowledge:

Knowledge without practice is a burden.

The Prophet sought refuge from knowledge that does benefit

5. Being Patient and Consistent

Knowledge requires time, effort, and patience.

(AS) showed great patience while learning from Khidr (AS) despite the challenges.

6. Seeking Knowledge from Reliable Sources

Avoid misinformation by learning from qualified teachers and authentic books.

Verify before sharing knowledge, as misinformation can mislead others.

7. Spreading Knowledge Wisely

Teach others with wisdom and kindness.

The Prophet said: Convey from me, even if it is one verse. (Bukhari)

Jibril asked the Prophet Muhammad three important
questions:

1. What is Islam?

• The Prophet answered: Islam means to submit to
  God, and it involves the five pillars:

  1. Shahada (Testimony of faith)

  2. Salah (Prayer)

  3. Zakat (Charity)

  4. Sawm (Fasting)

  5. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca)

2. What is Iman (Faith)?

• The Prophet replied: Iman involves believing in six
  core beliefs:

  1. Belief in Allah (God)

  2. Belief in angels

  3. Belief in the revealed books

  4. Belief in the prophets

  5. Belief in the Day of Judgment

  6. Belief in Qadar (Divine Preordainment)

3. What is Ihsan (Excellence in Worship)?

• The Prophet explained: Ihsan is to worship Allah as if
  you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then know
  that He sees you.

In summary, Islam is about actions, Iman is about beliefs, and Ihsan is about achieving spiritual excellence and sincerity in worship.

4. Belief in the Prophets (Anbiya)

• Believing in the prophets sent by Allah to
  guide humanity. The last and final prophet
  is Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
  him), who brought the final message in the
  Quran.

5. Belief in the Day of Judgment

• Believing in the Day of Judgment when
  everyone will be resurrected and judged
  by Allah for their deeds. Those who did
  good will be rewarded with Paradise, and
  those who did wrong will be punished in
  Hell.

6. Belief in Qadar (Divine Decree)

• Believing that everything happens
  according to Allah’s will and plan. This
  includes good and bad events, and
  Muslims believe that Allah’s wisdom is
  beyond human understanding

Ihsan is an Arabic term that means "excellence" or "perfection" in worship, actions, and character. It comes from the root word ح-س-ن (ḥ-s-n), which means "to be good" or "to do something well."

Ihsan in Islam

Ihsan is one of the three key dimensions of
Islam, alongside Islam (submission) and Iman
(faith). It represents the highest level of
devotion and sincerity in a Muslim's relationship
with Allah and others. This means that a person
should always strive for excellence in worship
and behavior, being mindful that Allah is always
watching.

"Three" Aspects of ihsan

• Ihsan in Worship – Performing acts of
  worship (prayer, fasting, charity, etc.) with
  sincerity and devotion, as if you are standing
  before Allah.

• Ihsan in Character – Treating people with
  kindness, honesty, patience, and generosity.

• Ihsan in Actions – Striving for excellence in
  everything you do, whether in work, studies,
  or daily interactions.

Reward of Ihsan

Allah promises great rewards for those who
practice Ihsan:

📖 "Indeed, Allah is with those who do Ihsan
(muhsinin)." (Quran 29:69)

📖 "Is the reward for Ihsan anything except Ihsan
(paradise)?" (Quran 55:60)

DEFINITION OF ADAB

Adab is an Arabic term that refers to good manners, proper behavior, and etiquette.

Is is essential for one to possess adab to enrich the relationship toward family and community and also for personal growth.

"‏ إِنَّ مِنْ أَخْيَرِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ خُلُقًا ‏"

'The best among you are those who have the best manners and character.'

1. Khilafah (Stewardship) – Humans are caretakers
   of the Earth and must protect it. (Qur’an 2:30)

2. Mizan (Balance) – Allah created everything in
   balance, and we should not harm nature. (Qur’an
   55:7-9)

3. Israf (Avoid Waste) – Islam forbids wasting
   resources, including food and water. (Qur’an
   7:31)

4. Ihsan (Excellence & Care) – Treat animals, plants,
   and the environment with kindness.

5. Shukr (Gratitude) – Appreciating and preserving
   Allah’s blessings leads to more blessings.

AMAL

• Shows devotion to Allah.

• Benefits the community (e.g., charity, kindness).

Tips for Right Amal:

1. Act with sincerity and devotion.

2. Be consistent, not occasional.

3. Intention matters as much as the action.

IHSAN

Meaning: Doing good with excellence and strong moral values.

Examples:

• Compassion

• Honesty

• Humility

• Patience

It includes performing ibadah with the feeling that Allah is just in front of us.

Key Points:

- Mental and physical preparation enhances Khushu.

- Understanding recitations deepens connection with Allah.

- Eliminating distractions fosters concentration in prayer.

• Key Point: Physical acts like bowing and sujood nurture humility.

• Elaboration: Being fully aware during these movements reminds us of our dependence on Allah, promoting humbleness in everyday life.

2. Muhasabah (Self-Reflection)

• Key Point: Salah encourages self-check and sincerity.

• Elaboration: Reflecting on our khushu' helps us identify where we can improve, making our prayers more meaningful and sincere.

3. Protection from Sin and Immorality

• Key Point: Khushu’ strengthens our moral compass.

• Elaboration: A focused prayer increases self-control and keeps one away from wrong actions and immoral thoughts.

4. Means of Forgiveness

• Key Point: Sincere prayer removes sins.

• Elaboration: As mentioned in hadith, each time a person bows or prostrates sincerely, their sins fall away — making salah a source of spiritual cleansing.

5. Closeness to Allah

• Key Point: Salah with khushu’ shows true faith.

• Elaboration: Allah praises believers who pray with focus and humility (Surah Al-Mu’minun 23:1-2). This brings the soul closer to its Creator.

6. Spiritual Elevation

• Key Point: Khushu’ affects the reward of salah.

• Elaboration: The more khushu’ one has, the greater the reward. The Prophet ﷺ said that reward is given in proportion to one’s focus — from one-tenth up to full.

“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwā (God-consciousness).”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:183)

1. Attainment of Taqwā (God-Consciousness)

• Main purpose of fasting.

• Trains self-control and awareness of Allah.

• Encourages honesty even when alone.

2. Spiritual Purification

• Helps control desires and ego (nafs).

• Clears the heart and strengthens willpower.

• A special gate in Paradise named Ar-Rayyān is only for those who fast.
