The traditional Ukrainian village had been essentially destroyed, and settlers from Russia were brought in to repopulate the devastated countryside. " The people could have brought lots of food and crops if informed that there was a drought and crop shortage. 

According to american history from ABC Clio it proves that 'After the war he held offices in the Ukraine until 1949, when he became secretary of the CPSU and headed the Department of Agriculture in Moscow.' He could of tried to help convince Stalin out of his plans letting the people free from hunger.

Stalin wants to take and control the farms and factories and more until he has everything.


 Acording to the encyclopedia it shows that "Arrests, followed by imprisonment, exile, or execution, decimated the ranks of intellectuals, writers, and artists; some, like  Khvylovy, committed suicide in protest."  people were protesting and Stalin did not like that and wanted to punish all the civilians.
