I’ve choose this topic because I think its so important to think abbout

Once we have seen the movie we can see how “x” years ago were injuries everywhere, the main caracthers were treat really bad, no one treat them good for the only reason that they were black womens, no one had in mine them and valoue their work. Watch this movie made me feel so sad, the world is so unfair and in that times more, they really treat other people in a so disrespectful way.

This is why I choose this topic, we can see it of two ways, the first, the world is so horrible and Im so sorry people like that exist, or the second one, we can see that like a positive thing, now there are a lot of injustices happening, there is so racism, gendender inequiality, etc. But we can whatch it in a positive way, the world made a progress, yes, there are so many things to change even, but we have make so many changes and we have progress, now womens can vote for example. This is why we have to continue working on it, we need to achieve equiality for everyone, and if we continue working some day we will get it

Firts of all I'd like to talk about racism because I know there is still racism. We have improved but we still have it around.
In the film we can saw in the firsts minutes, that police want DNI from the 3 girls that are black.
After this the 3 girls enter in the office and we can only saw a black woman called computers.
Then a white girl enter in this office and want a girl from the west to work in the east.
After that they make them do a higher task than they do but pay them less.
Katherine can't talk with the supervisor if he don't talk with her first.
Katherine can't use white toilets, and she have to go to the black toilets, so she has to walk all the way that is at the other side.
She cannot protest the work overload. However a white person could.
They won't let her drink from the same cup and from the same coffee pot. She have to prepare their own coffee.
And finally we can saw that they also separate the library.
One for the white people and one for the black people, so they won't let her take the books from the library.
We have to work hard to eliminate racism. We are all people whether white, black or of another color.

I am going to choose the point related to racism, I think racism is not a good option, because we are all the same people even if we are not all the same color, from the same place or families. In the film it was seen how people of color were treated badly and had different rights than others, different bathrooms, they could not join with those who were not of color and could not drink from the same place as them. But already at the end of the movie it is seen that they already treat her better and give her to drink the coffee they drank and let them use the same bathroom, because they realized that she was just like them, even smarter than some of them. As I have said before, racism should disappear because in the end we are all people and we should have the same rights.

Julia Orejón Ballesteros

From my point of view, the film discloses the inequality that existed at the time, understanding as social inequality as a historical and cultural phenomenon, where people have unequal access to resources of all kinds, services and positions valued by societ.
In hidden figures, one of the most reflected is this, since by that time inequality was very marked, specifically in gender and race, this because by that time women did not have the same rights as men, were somehow qualified as inferior, as race was, there was also inequality as a person of color could not have the same rights as a white person. Between these cases of inequality that we can see in the film are:
• NASA's East Wing building where people of color worked there, not mixing with the other buildings where worked the whites
• At that time everything was separated between things for people of color and white people. One of them is the bathrooms, the water drinkers, buses etc.
• Another point is where Mary Jackson couldn't study engineering at a white college.
Despite the inequality that existed, these figures that remained hidden for a while, thanks to their intelligence and character, they finally managed to stand out, shine and be recognized in a world where they were marginalized.

This movie is a great example that everything in life with great effort and perseverance can be achieved, no matter how difficult it may seem.
The first of these women, Dorothy Vaughan was a computer supervisor who prepared her colleagues for the transition from difficult calculations by hand to programming and using electronic computers.
Katherine Johnson calculated the trajectory for the Project Mercury and the Apollo 11 flight to the Moon. With much effort she impress her boss and pt her in charge of the successful landing of Glenn, the most complicated part of the process.
Mary Jackson aspired to one day be an engineer. She had to request a judge to allow her to take courses for white men, in segregated schools, to get the necessary credits to be an engineer. She managed to convince the judge though a discourse looking forward to equality.
All of these women fought like never before to achieve the goals they had in mind since they were little. They had to work harder than the other people because they were part of two of the most historically discriminated human groups, being a woman and being black.
As a conclusion, this movie gives the pleasure of seeing how valuable people demolish the hypocrisy and superiority of an obtuse system and archive great things.

I chose this topic because I think that this aspect is clearly shown in this film, and also very important.
First of all, to be a racist is being a person who disrespects another one just because his/her colour, and that is unacceptable. People of colour must have the same rights as we do and they can't be treated as someone who is less because they don't deserve it. They deserve much better than be treated as garbage. Nowadays we have improved in that aspect but it is not over yet.
In this movie we can see a lot of examples of racism, for example:
· First of all, the fact that coloured people have to go to different bathrooms than the other people who is working in the NASA. Katherine had to spend more than 30 minutes going to the bathrooms because they were far away from her.
· We can also see that Katherine had to drink from a different cup than the others employees.
And the most important one, being disrespected just for the fact that they are black. We can see that Katherine, Mary, Dorothy and other employees are not very comfortable at first because people start to judge them or just being disrespectful. But at the end we can see that all of them prove that they are amazing and incredible people but especially very intelligent and brave, because they had to deal with a lot of things.

I want to talk about this topic because it is still a problem in our society.
In this movie, we can see how black people are oppressed by the society, and the fact that everyone is racist without even noticing.

We can see racism when these women are stopped by the police officer, and just because of the fact that they are black, he suspects they might be delinquents. Then we can see how black workers were separated from white workers. And we can see how the restrooms are organized in a way that, black people have to go to colored restrooms.
We can see how some of this things, nowadays, still happen. The police keeps stopping black people to ask for their documentation. We can see the police abuse against black people. And we can also see the white privilege we have on political, economic and social aspects.

Even though we have improved, there is still a lot of things to change and we have to carry out a revolution. We live in a racist society, so we still have internalized racist thoughts in retaliation. It is our responsibility to deconstruct our prejudices, stereotypes and conducts.

Inequality it is a social problem in which there is discrimination between people because the gender.
The female sex has always had 'prohibitions' at the social level, like as: -vote. -decide who to marry. -clothing-to work. -lawfully abort. -Among others. Those are some of the many things that could not be done before, but are currently not completely overcome, for example, there are cultures where women, often minors, are forced to marry men for economic reasons. This theme is one of the main themes of the movie Hidden Figures. Throughout the film we can see that the protagonists constantly suffer inequality because they are women and also because they are African American.

Avril Miranda Salazar.

I'm Adrià Espiés Calaf and I want to talk about racism, because in the film we can see scenes that nowadays do not make sense. For example, the black girl had to grab coffee from somewhere different than the coffee maker of white people and also had to prepare her own coffee, besides the coffee maker is worse than the other. Luckily we have evolved, but for many years white people oppressed black people so it was difficult to see black people studying and working in places like Katherine Johnson did. That's why many very intelligent black people couldn't explain their ideas for the simple fact of being black. Although we have made progress in this aspect there is still much to do and achieve; luckily there are people like Al Harrison (the boss) who are fighting to end these inequalities.

I chose racism, because it was showed multiple times throughout the movie. Even though racism was much much worse back then, it is still a big problem today.

There were many times racism was shown. For example, near the beginning of the movie the cop pulled over the three women just because they’re colored. Another time was how everyone gave Katherine a dirty look as soon as she walked in the room. Again these people looked at her this way because she was colored. The last example I’m going to give, is when she had to go to another bathroom that was not the one labeled women’s, because she is colored. To me that’s crazy because “her” bathroom was not even in the building she had to leave the building, run for a long time til she gets to the bathroom, do her business, and run back. That is very inconsiderate of the people there.

Racism also has a very negative effect on the people who are being discriminated. In the movie you can see how racism affects the people’s way of acting, way of talking, and way of thinking. When Mary was helping with shuttle module correcting one mistake that the others hadn’t thought of a man said to her “You should be an engineer ”. She looked at him and said “I’m a negro women I don’t want to entertain the impossible”. You can see how discrimination has an effect on people’s mindsets and how they think.

Finally towards the end of the movie they made changes and started accepting the colored. I think everyone should be accepted for who they are not how they look. So never judge a book by its cover because you never know what’s inside.

I chose the theme of (racism) because I think this aspect is clearly shown in the movie and its something that can't be tolerated at all. Racism also has a very negative impact on people who are discriminated against. In my case where I come from in my country there is a lot of racism now days its something that can't be controlled by the armed forces. The society has the control of that to make a negative or positive impact in the world of racism. It's something we the society have to change as a whole for the better of the world. In the movie, you can see how racism affects how people behave, talk and think. When Mary helped the space shuttle module correct a mistake that no one else had thought of, she said to her: "You should be an engineer." She looked at him and said, "I am a black woman and I don't want to entertain the impossible." You can see that when people get discriminated it changes there way of thinking and affects peoples actions in negative ways. Finally, at the end of the movie, they made changes and started accepting the colored people. Accepting the colored people is something that should've been done in the first place.
