this may be because she still feels like she's alive. this also relates to the immortality as talked about before and eternal afterlife after death. it also shows her full journey and the changes in time, as she reflecting upon this she still feels the same way. "Feels shorter than the day" It is her memory, a recollection of when death picked her up and brought her to her death, and she still remembers and thinks that she's living immortal.

Dickinson switches from using the past tense to using the word "feels" in the last stanza to show the changes in time. Her "travelling" to Eternity happened in the past, her laying in the grave is the present. She knows it been a long time, but she doesn't know how long and loses track of time.

Dickinson has switched from using past tense in her poem to the word "feels". I think this is because in the stanza before this one she was talking about everything in the past and now she has changed because she might be talking about how she feels and not what has having to her in the past but what is happening to her now.

However by the last stanza when the writer says 'Since then - 'tis Centuries' its changes the way the readers view the event because the writer says its happened in the past . When the writer then says 'Feels shorter than the day' it explains why the writer could describe the event in such detail and remember the day so well.
