I know that I am supposed to have many measures of each standard (outcome) and I am always concerned that I don't have enough. I don't want to over asses my students either

I struggle assigning 1s. If a student does the work, and it's subject related, but all completely wrong, is that a 1? What is the differentiation between a 1 and 2 on short assessments?

What can I do to bring it up?

If I just start telling them their standard scores, and what content they are struggling with, it still kind of leaves them hanging, no?

But I also don't want them to always focus on assignments they need to turn in / do and overall grades.

What about a student who truly doesn't do the work? For example, some students don't even take the quizzes. They sit in zoom all class period and never take the quiz. I've called home, emailed student and parent. Do those students get a 0? Seems like we are trying to avoid zero at all costs.

i struggle with the gap between SBG being designed to allow for students a continuous improvement model and the disconnect in student learning approach where they don't realize that's what it's about...how long does it take for kids to figure out they should redo stuff to keep learning?
