It started a movement for equal education and got people to start thinking more critically about education and racial inequality in education. This act affects the students that now attend schools that are desegregated "in all aspects of their adult life" because they are more likely to attend colleges and hold careers that are desegregated (327). This was a key movement in attempting to create a more equal platform for all students and setting up all to be successful in life. The seven principles set for by the PEA are very beneficial in that they set up a system in which children are free to develop and learn at their pace, where "the teacher is the guide" and "the school and home work together" to make sure that students are learning to the best of their ability. I put this third because I think that it offers a grounding for what we aim to to do now and their seven goals are goals that I still have for myself. I think that this is important as well. It allowed for children of lower-economic households to obtain the same level of education as their wealthier peers. It is very important that all students have access to the same levels of education and should not be discriminated against based upon any factor, economic status included.
