I will show students an essay with mistakes that have been made with feedback from the teacher. I will guide them through the process of how to fix the mistakes that have been made based on the feedback this essay has received. This will be demonstrated whole class. The next day we will do the we do part. All of the students will be given an essay with mistakes made on it and a rubric as a class we will give the essay feedback and then correct the essay as needed.

Self Paced Lesson

Students will go through a self-guided lesson that works them through each part of the rubric. Which has a checkpoint after each part of the rubric. If they answer the questions correctly they can move on to the next part of the rubric. If they do not the teacher and student will have a one-on-one meeting to discuss the misunderstanding and do a mini-lesson.

Students will be asked to define what makes good feedback. This will then give the teacher an understanding of what the student needs when given feedback.

This will be a game that students will play as a class. They will receive a short paragraph with feedback that is vague or hard to understand. The game will be about who can ask the most questions to properly fix the paragraph they have received. Whoever student fixes their paragraph fix wins the game.

Students will read four 6th-grade essays and four different feedbacks that were given and they will be able to much which feedback goes with each essay.
