This was a boycott movement started by MLK Jr where they stopped using public transportation and started hitching rides and walking instead. Another was the Albany Movement which was when MLK chose to offer counsel rather than participating in SNCC and got arrested. Then there were also others such as the March on Washington, Bloody Sunday, Chicago Freedom Movement, Vietnam War Opposition and the Poor People's Campaign. Violent protests has a 60% failure rate, it is very disorganized and could lead to many deaths. However violent protests can take less time, can be seen as a glorious way to take back your country and rights, and can be used to stand your ground. Before the civil rights movement, everything would be different for different races such as workspaces could say "No Negros Allowed" and things such as "Whites Only". Buses used to be all whites in the from twhile the blacks used to sit in the back.
