Give our students the chance to experience another industry that they might not familiar with. Every student needs to find their "niche" and this could open the doors for some of our students.

This a great opportunity to show students another field of study that they can explore, especially since we are so technology driven. This will open a door for so many that they didn't even know existed. I am amazed.

Computer science is a huge industry that offers a lot of different professional avenues to choose from. Most students in high school aren't even aware of the possibilities in computers, so this hands on experience will give the students the exposure they need.

Also, when students hear the word "Science" they think it's a lot of complicated reading about things they aren't interested in - let's be truthful. I hope the students can gain new knowledge and will find this interesting. And some students that know nothing about coding may realize that they enjoy it or are good at it.

There is an alg 1 PD that uses project based learning and linear functions to code games. It would be a great 4th semester project for Alg 1 students to highlight how everyone can code, and also integrate math into something fun and real world for them.

Because it connects everyone to everything somehow. Everyone can relate on some level no matter what. Like it said across economy, background, history, but it didn't say experience - meaning what happened that day/week/month/year. This can give hope to the hopeless.
