The crazy thing to think about is they are well off compared to those around them, but still have many daily struggles. The family is able to pay rent, the children can go to school, the adults have jobs, and they have food to eat. Where they are, this makes them lucky. Its sad to think that these things make them lucky when, here in America, many people don't even have to think twice about these things. They aren't rich by any means, but they are living better than a considerable amount of people. The young boy still has money to go to school along with some extra to help out the family. They could be doing much worse than they are, they have enough to make it by with a little bit extra here and there. They have enough money for food, shelter, water, schooling, that's much more than others have. They barely have enough money by the time they are all working. That money produces just enough money to get food for the family and things to sell at the shop. To me, they have just enough to get by with everything. By the time the children go to school, able to pay rent, and all of them having jobs they're just getting by with everything.
