This model is important in relating the person, activity, and environment which is essential in determining and using assistive technology (Cook & Polgar, 2015).
-Occupational therapists are responsible for using a client-centered approach to identify the client's needs, interests, and preferences.
-These can include client roles, beliefs and their past experiences with using AT (Cook & Polgar, 2015). The clients’ body structure and functions are important in determining the type of AT and any modifications that need to be made to enhance function and use of the equipment. Lastly, the client’s goals and everyday activities need to be considered (Cook & Polgar, 2015).
