The price of bread (Flour) was increased sky high and the lower class citizens demanded to lower the price of bread, therefore starting riots at Versailles then on to Paris.

People lived off bread and it is what fills their stomachs. (For example, Rice) They are not willing to cost themselves an arm or a leg just for some bread.

The price of bread skyrocketing triggered the citizens to riot. Therefore as I see it, it's a trigger.

The king needed some advice on what to do about the issues that are going on in France. He brought 3 people from 3 estates. The 1st estate (church people), 2nd estate (Rich), and 3rd estate (Poor). Each person represented each of their estates. The problem starts when the Rich and middle class starts teaming up on votes, therefore, rigging the voting system.

This was significant because this could've been the population's chance for a change.

The affairs occurring in France, filled in conditions for the king to put together a meeting. In my opinion, this is a condition.

They did not have to pay tax at all, In fact, collected 10% of the taxes.

The 2nd Estate - (Nobility) Capitalists that owned lands and have the poor work for them. They did not have to pay taxes either, but they did tax the people who lived on their land for extra cash. They have the citizens to do all the work for them. Living a lavish lifestyle.

The 3rd estate - (Peasants) These are the people who take it the worst. Everything lands on them and they don't have much to give either. They pay all the taxes, work hard, and sometimes don't even get paid at all. All the disadvantages lands on the 3rd estate

Worried of the French army planning an attack on the 3rd estates. 3rd estates Needing guns for self-defense, about one thousand men break into the Hotel des Invalides (Nursing home for disabled army veterans) for guns. Of course, the guns were useless without gun powder. They then decided to storm the bastille (Prison) demanding gun powder from the leader, leader rejected; 3rd estates decide to violently attack the bastille for gun powder resulting in a violent fight, some the bastille officers joined the crowd and fired at the other officers on their own side. Therefore the prison surrendered.

This event showed that the 3rd estates can also fight back; proving that the Unity of 27 million people Is a Strength.

From my view, It is a cross between a belief and a trigger. The crowd believes they should be able to get gun powder, the bastille disagrees; triggering an attack.

These men that are able to vote are called "active citizens".

This was significant because it caused controversy in the 3rd estates against each other.

I believe it's a trigger because the government is basically saying "Fine fine" giving the 3rd Estates some power.

As a routine, housewives go to the market to get bread for their families, October 5, 1789, The wives were astounded by the price of bread. They start demanding a lower price, couple of hours later, there were thousands of women marching in the market demanding lower prices. Marching 12 miles south of the market towards King's Palace in Versailles. They demanded to meet with the king. Not changing the price for everybody, they violently riot their way into the palace killing guards; looking to kill Queen Marie. Queen Marie is completely alright, though nearly killed.

This is significant because it shows that women are as strong and have much power as men.

The housewives went on their daily routine and were astounded by the prices, triggering a march/riot. As far I can tell, it is a trigger.

Back to the Estates-General, There were 3 groups, all 3 had the same amount of voting power. Though the 1st and 2nd estates start teaming up and rigging the system, the 3rd estates think it's not fair and demanded more power. the king refused. The 3rd estates of 27 million people started making their own group called the national assembly, started creating their own rules and proving that they don't need the king to live.

This is significant because they proved that they can live on their own.

If you ask me, it is a trigger. They had enough of the French government and the 2 other estates taking them as a joke. They shined and proved themselves that they are just as powerful.

Therefore the 3rd estates made their own group called the "National Assembly"
