To day was the day of the launch of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. I wasn't that nervous during the launch because I went through all that once before on July 18, 1966 for the Gemini 10 mission. They told me that I was the Command module pilot. Which that meant that I wouldn't be able to go down to the surface of the moon. Instead I would have to stay in the command module alone for how ever long Neil and Buzz were down on the surface of the moon, but I didn't really mind it. I was lucky because the command module had hot water, while the lunar module had no hot water at all.

We are now orbiting the moon. Buzz and Neil are about to detach the lunar module from the command module to make their way down to the surface of the moon. While I sit up here and wait for them to make it back to the command module. My job is important but it might get really boring. I don't know how long they're going to stay on the lunar surface. But I hope they will make it back.

Today is the day we go back to earth. We are all hoping that we land safely. We have no clue where we will land but it would be better if we landed in the water so if something goes wrong like a cord snaps when we are close to the ground we can still land safely with minimal injuries. I want to go see my family and friends when I get back down to earth. I feel like it will be hard to walk. so it might take some time getting used to the gravity again.
