Abigail was Reverend Parris' niece, and one of the Proctor's servants at a point in time. As a very young child, Abigail lived with the Parris family in Boston, where in 1688 a witchcraft trial occurred. This is because her parents died as a young girl. In the Crucible, she is said to have had a affair with farmer, John Proctor. She accuses many people of witchcraft including Goody Proctor. This is one of the step sisters from "Cinderella". We feel Abigail resembles this character/ famous role because the sisters are known to want what Cinderella has. They are very mean to her and genuinely do not consider her feelings. Abigail is much like this role because she wanted what Elizabeth Proctor had (Goody Proctor) no matter what it took. She wanted to take her life in turn for John. The step sisters took all measures just as Abigail does. She acted, accused, and even hurt herself to get what she wanted. In the end she is left with nothing. (John Proctor's wife) Abigail is very jealous of Goody Proctor because Abigail is in love with her husband. Abigail goes as far as to drink chicken blood to get rid of Elizabeth. Also, in the puritan religion, a person is not allowed to sing or dance. It is considered a serious sin and the person will be whipped if they do it. We believe Abigail's motive behind all her cunning actions was to ultimately be with John Proctor and to keep herself from being condemned for dancing in the woods.

We choose this song because the singer of this song is singing about how crazily attached she is to her ex lover. Abigail had an affair with John Proctor, who is married, and is still very in love with him, very much so to the point it makes her crazy.
