- The difference between between being a a partner with families and parent teacher conferences is that the parents are more involved in the school. We as a group agree that it is beneficial for both parents and teachers to become partners instead of just meeting at small conference because that way parents have a better relationship with schools and teachers while still receiving information about the child's achievements.

In becoming partners with families, the teacher and parent create a closer bond which lets the parents know more about how their child is doing with grades and behavior since they would see the teacher more often. In parent-teacher conference, it is mostly teacher reaching out to parents because of their child’s behavior, low grades, not doing work, and lack of attendance.

Teachers becoming partners with families forms a close relationship between them and the parents. Teachers gain the parents trust and they’re able to discuss any issue regarding their child. Parent teacher conferences are only occasional and can last for 30 minutes to an hour regarding the students behavior and grades. Additionally, some parents don’t attend any parent- teacher conferences, resulting in the lack of a relationship between them.

Throughout an education career, teachers interact with parents in various ways. When teachers become partners with family they have the advantage to have a deeper trust which can become beneficial for the student since they are constantly changing information that will aid the students future. On the other hand, parent teacher conferences provide minimal interaction between them where the meetings happen occasionally. There are different factors to the amount of involvement parents have in their children education.
