The little porcupine likes to dance, sing, and play.

He does not like the sharp spines all over his body, called quills. They get in the way of his fun!

No one else likes them either. At the playground, no one wants to play with him.

At camp, no one wants to share a tent with him. “Don’t sleep with us, porcupine,” they complain. “Your quills will poke us.”

One day, a little mouse approaches and says, “Porcupine, your quills make you special.”

The little mouse wants to help, so he makes a special shirt for the porcupine to wear.

He wears the shirt and goes out to meet the other animals. “Don’t come near us! We are afraid of the sharp quills on your back,” they say. As his quills have pierced through his special new shirt.

Feeling sad, the little porcupine goes back to his only friend, the little mouse.

“Don’t worry, my prickly friend,” the little mouse says. “I have another idea.”

Now, the mouse paints the porcupine’s quills.

Everyone comes over to admire his colourful new quills, and soon they realize they aren't so scary after all. "We're sorry" they say.

And they all go play together.

— A Mini Solar System Story —

One bright morning, the Sun woke up extra shiny.

“I want to have a space party!” it said happily.

So it sent a warm invitation to all the planets.

Mercury zoomed in first. “I’m fastest, so I came early!”

Venus twirled in next, glowing bright. “I brought sparkles!”

Earth arrived with the Moon, who kept peeking from behind shyly.

Mars rolled in with red dust everywhere. “Oops! I made a little mess.”

Jupiter came bouncing in—so big that everyone giggled.

Saturn floated gracefully with its fancy rings. “I dressed up!”

Uranus spun sideways and said, “Don’t mind me, I like being different!”

And Neptune glided in last, blowing chilly blue breezes.

The Sun beamed proudly. “All my planets are here!”

They danced around the Sun in their big orbits—

round and round, slow and fast, each in their own special way.

And that day, the solar system had the brightest, happiest party in space.

We will be joyfully celebrating Christmas on Wednesday, 24th December filled with fun, cheer, and festive activities for the children. Students may come dressed in party wear clothes and bring party food to share with their friends.

As part of the celebration, we will also be having a Secret Santa where the children will exchange the gifts they have already brought from home.
