The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo on 28th June 1914, it triggered a chain of events that resulted in World War 1.<br>Significance- The trigger for the war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, by Yugoslav nationalist Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo on 28 June 1914. ... Germany presented an ultimatum to Russia to demobilise, and when this was refused, declared war on Russia on 1 August.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1915 May 7<br>explain-  less than a year after World War I erupted across Europe, a German U-boat torpedoed and sank the RMS Lusitania, a British ocean liner en route from New York to Liverpool, England.<br>SIgnificance-The sinking of the Cunard ocean liner RMS Lusitania occurred on Friday, 7 May 1915 during the First World War, as Germany waged submarine warfare against the United Kingdom which had implemented a naval blockade of Germany. The ship was identified and torpedoed by the German U-boat U-20 and sank in 18 minutes.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1915 September 18<br>Explain- Unrestricted submarine warfare was first introduced in World War I in early 1915, when Germany declared the area around the British Isles a war zone, in which all merchant ships, including those from neutral countries, would be attacked by the German navy.<br>Sinificance- Germany wanted to break the deadlock in the war where the British kept war materials and other goods from reaching Germany by a naval blockade. The German blockade of Britain could only be effective if they went after passenger and other ships.</div>]]></description>
