Psdo content heavy on theory

i think i should learn this mod before i go internship, it will more relevant

(a) Practical is interesting. Example, the application and usage of different types of transformer. As a person who is curious about the equipment used during the lesson, I do find it fun and engaging.

(b) Lecture notes are informative as well, going in depth, understanding easier.

a) All lectures should be taught in classes, online learning for notes was not the best as we were not able to ask the lecturers any questions.

b) Questions for the quizzes cannot be even found in the notes, quizzes was also confusing.

c) Provide the tutorial solutions sooner since tutorials are not graded. As I already doing the tutorial as self initiative, it would be better to have the solutions.

(a) Sometimes classes are quite dry. Despite the teacher being engaging, i realize that most students does not pay attention when the teacher teaches the class. Could improve by making a Kahoot quiz game.

(b) Some quiz questions are not relevant to the lecture notes. Try to stick with them since most students will use them for their revision

I think we should have learnt PSDO in year 2 instead of year 3 because i went to internship with 0 knowledge and it took awhile for me adjust. can change Daily report to monthly report? definitely we learn a lot of things during the first few weeks of internship but after 3 months later we dont have any thing different to write about

i dont listen to oal videos. please provide the full workings for the tutorial. i dont understand the short cut one. the oal video too long. spending 2hr for each module excluding in person classes is too much. i dont know why in year 3 sem 2 the dateline for project and assignment is so tight.

a) Internship in Rotary Switchgear and Testing pte ltd(RST) was a new experience for me especially in the work life environment.

b) What we learned in internship was very related to what I am learning in PSDO.

c) Internship supervisors were really friendly and they are willing to go out of their way to teach and explain what they are doing.

a) A daily report was quite useless and a hassle. A monthly report would have been much better.

b) More of our grade weightage should be on our company instead of the school.

a) Notes are a little long and most of the content are not even tested. A more summarised notes would have been much better.

b) Videos are too long, I would rather learn the content through the notes by myself.

c) It would be better to provide more final test practice papers.

d) Workings for the tutorial should not be skipping steps as looking at it might be quite confusing.

Most task assigned to me are not applicable to engineering. For example, our supervisor told me to take pictures of defects as my main task, and nothing else.
There is no OJT plan during my internship.
Weekly reports. Can change to monthly since it is quite repetitive. First few weeks are new to us, but the subsequent weeks are just doing the same thing.
As this a internship programme, the grading system should be more towards the company side rather than the school side

a) Students development is great as we have a lot of resources provided in general. For example, Micron talks.

b) Class would be better in PSDO if we were able to visit substations and electrical facilities that we were taught in our modules.

a) Lab was great as there are a lot of equipment such as switchgears and transformer in the classroom.

b) The libraries in this school are also great as I can either rest or do my work in a conducive environment.

The module should provide more sample test papers . Currently, the module only supplies us with like 2 or 3 papers, which I dont think is enough for revision.
Sample answers for tutorial and sample test papers are quite confusing with workings. Some workings did not show the full steps of how to achieve the answer, since they just 'cut corners'.
OAL videos might be abit too long. Breaking down into simpler parts of a chapter allows students to focus more.

Ngee ann has good facilities for sports. could be better if we have more canteen pls. the queue during the lunch break is too long and the food stalls in the canteen are not fully occupied. Throughout my 3 years in np the food selection is limited.

Events that are held on a regular basis is great. This helps students being engaged, discover new things and meeting new faces.
To deepen the knowledge of that module, a physical visit to that location is better. For example, in PSDO, we were learning about substations. The school could bring us to a learning journey to like Tuas power station.

Overall the facilities are good, such as the library, swimming pool and gym.
Toilets are generally clean
Food club has limited selection to choose. Almost half of the stalls are not open

PSDO was very informative with regards to its theoretical content such as different types of transformers and relays, and the knowledge about the electrical grids, generations, transmission, and electricity distribution.

My teacher was Dr Tey, Dr Tey is a good teacher and always records his lessons for students to watch for revision.
