1.  On may 2017, a UPNM cadet officer named Zulfarhan Shan Zulkarnain was relentlessly tortured and scalded with a steam iron at the campus hostel. 

-Severely beaten up

-Scalded with a steam iron on body parts including the private area.

-The cadet was left without medical care and he then succumbed to his injuries on 1st of June 2017.

2.  Authorities detained 18 male students connected to the incident. Six were formally charged with murder and assault; 12 others faced charges of causing hurt.

-  6 were sentenced to 18 years in prison

-12 were sentenced to 4 years in prison

-Many students and teachers are unclear about what counts as bullying.

-Verbal teasing or name-calling is often seen as “normal” jokes.

-Teachers may not act quickly because the definition is vague.

-Parents are often too busy with work to notice warning signs.

-Weakens cooperation between school and home.

-With parental support, teachers could solve issues faster.
