To be shown some appreciation.

The faces of clocks once smashed,

Watches long broken,

Stare blankly in return at me.

Lava bubbles and consumes all that dares to draw near,

These things,

These symbols.

Embrace them.

For our god.

everything feels so strange and peculiar and i’m wearing away in weird places and it feels magnified, it feels infinitely old there are the thin roots of the earth under my skin and i’ll be home again some day i can feel the ghosts of the gold that adorned me covered my flaws, because what else am i good for other than to be beautiful and am i even that i’m afraid of who i am when they are stripped away and i’ll be home again some day the day is done and i’m home again and i’m exhausted now and i know i’ve done nothing tangible but ive done more than what i’m capable of and i miss the freedom of being unadorned and i miss the tree roots beneath my flesh and i don’t want to be home anymore
