One character trait of Walter is stressed. In the story he says, • Complains that Ruth won’t do anything to help him. “You couldn’t be on my side that long for nothing, could you. … A man needs for a woman to back him up…” Page 32. He says this because he is stressed out and feels like Ruth is never on his side for anything.

Another character trait for Walter is self-doubting. • “Forget it baby! There ain’t no causes—there ain’t nothing but taking in this world, and he who takes most is smartest—and it don’t make a damn bit of difference how.” P. 143. This shows that Walter is self-doubting because he explains how it doesn't matter if your the smartest or anything else because nothing matters.

My personal opinion of Walter Lee is he can be very self doubting and negative towards things. During the book/play Walter argues with his family about money and other problems they are having. He doesn't know how to relax because he is constantly doing something. Him and his wife have a horrible relationship due to the fact that they argue a lot, they can never agree on anything, and their son sleeps on the couch in the living room. He also tends to drink a lot with his friends and can be very immature, I think Walter should fix his problems with his wife and family and try and think before he snaps t people all the time because I wouldn't want to live with someone who can't control themselves.

This portrait resembles Walter's family because Walter'f family have been through a lot and they aren't in the best living situations. Throughout the play/book they go through problems and they struggle at time but they manage to pull through and overcome their problems together.

Now that he's a grownup he doesn't know how to act right most of the time. He is in a horrible living situation. Him and his wife's relationship may be beyond unfixable. He also doesn't have a father.

The theme for "A Raisin in the Sun" is about dreams that were broke, shattered or lost and forgotten.

• “Man say to his woman: I got me a dream. His woman say: Eat your eggs. Man say: I got to take hold of this here world, baby! And a woman will say: Eat your eggs and go to work. Man say: I got to change my life, I’m choking to death, baby! And his woman say – Your eggs is getting cold!” page 33,34
This quote supports the theme by stating that the world tends not to care ab other peopled goals or dreams. Walter says this by saying how Ruth kept telling Walter to eat his food while Walter was trying to explain his thoughts but nobody seemed to listen.
