Yesterday in Delhi, India, it has been announced that researchers have discovered that the awful air pollution has decreased life span by nearly 10 years. A tiny piece of matter called PM2.5 that is found in smog-air all across India is getting into peoples lungs at large quantities. This is what is taking away the precious years of life from the people. If this air pollution problem is fixed, studies show that up to 240 million people will have 10 years of life added back to their life span. The National Clean Air Program aims to reduce this harmful matter by around 25%.

“Air Quality: Pollution Shortening Lives by Almost 10 Years in Delhi, Says Study.” BBC News, BBC, 14 June 2022, https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-61793884.
