"Careful curation and design of the learning spaces and technologies within them has a profound impact on the diversity and depth of the experiences and connections made possible within the library" (NIST).

"The design of learning spaces in the library plays a key role in supporting student agency and learning through play by being responsive to student interests and grounded in what they value." (NIST)

Connection is the central concept around which we carefully curate the library space to achieve a vibrant learning community. When the balance is just right, the library hums with play, solitude, collaboration, interaction, inspiration and ideas—the perfect space for serendipitous discovery, pleasure and a community that nurtures learning. (NIST)

The ideal IBPYP library needs to have a variety of spaces that enables students to:

work together collaboratively

access information through hands on materials and technology

utilise technology to support their collaboration and expressing their ideas and support student agency by students being able to choose when and where they want to access technology to access a wide variety of diverse resources.

access professional support to aide their inquiries
