The literally face of wildlife. WWF one of the biggest wildlife protectors in the world mascot is a panda. Think of a wildlife company or even a zoo most of them will be popular animals or cute animals such as pandas, tigers, bears, that mix. Now don't get me wrong we need to protect tigers, polar bears and other apex predators are needed for the food chain to work and not unbalance but pandas? Now I love pandas as much as anyone who likes animals, but the amount of money we pour into them on a daily basis is kinda crazy. A lot of money goes to pandas from donations. The panda's donation money could be going to the zoo and pandas. So that would make it worthwhile to fund theses fuzz balls. These pandas have some for all this money. Now this is a official estimate by WWF, 11 million dollars a year to keep their pandas. Now we don't have real estimates of the money pandas get but it is sited multiple times that it is more than 1 million a year. Pandas make a lot of money I think we can all agree on this. Some animals are more in need of this money. Pandas don't help their ecosystem while some fungi do but have you ever donated to fungi? That was probably a no, while yes fungi charity do exist you just probably have not heard of them. Fungi help spread spores which certain animals can eat or even help provide for flowers and such. Fungi are not cute in anyway I mean their mushrooms but on the other hand a more popular, cuter, less environmentally friendly ( I'll talk about that later.) , and also not as vital to the ecosystem, pandas can surpass this theses little spores less with 1,000 dollars of funding by a lot! Pandas spend a bunch of our money for usually nothing! Our money has to be given to all creatures. I just want to say that currently the money we spend must go to different animals. Most of our money goes to pandas that is not bad but the horrible thing is that MOST of our money. It should be some of our money. Some animals are more in need of the money you donate. One of the classic cases is of the black rhinos. The black rhinos were an amazing and breath taking to see. At least they were. They didn't get enough donation to live. This is one of the very sad case of donation failure. Pandas lived because of their adorableness and got enough to live. Black rhinos on the other hand did not. We need to learn from this tragedy and open more donations for the lesser known and or cute. How do we fix the donation system? It's not our fault that we are attracted to the popular animal it's just more convenient to go to your local zoo rather than to find a out of the way charity. All we need to do is to put more effort in conversation funds. If you know an animal that needs donations try as hard as you can to give the money they deserve even if it will be hard because we started this mess now we will fix it. Now I do not think this as fact but it is still somewhat true. Now this is a official quote from WWF “Pandas bring huge economic benefits ” this stunned me for a second. Now put on you're tin foil hats because it time for conspiracy! What it sounds like is that WWF supports pandas not because of they importance but for there money. It is somewhat clear to tell that some the money zoos and other commercial donations use the pandas money for themselves. On a china add I saw a few days ago it said one of the reasons to go here is just for the pandas. One of China's tourist magnet is the promise of pandas! Who does not like pandas! People will pay to see pandas and how cute they are. Now "Are they in it for the money?" no they are not in it for the money. A company such as WWF likes money ( what company doesn't ) but they like to keep pandas alive more. WWF is not a greedy company like Seaworld. Seaworld was willing to bring a great white shark to their aquarium. You my say this is not that bad, but it is. Great white sharks always die one way or another in transport no matter how hard you do to protect them. Nobody know exactly why this is but it is really depressing that they would try to do this. Seaworld knew this and was willing to take a risk on a poor sharks life. The awareness of this animal is so low that padlet and google ( What I am typing in ) says it is not a real word. The Takin are endangered, like many other animal but what makes the Takin different is that they migrate to spread seed of fruits everywhere around the Himalayan mountains. Seaworld's famous orcas live less years than a free one. This is terrifying for any orca or other mammal ( aside from humans) in side of the establishment was most likely inbreed or kidnapped from their previous family. Now being outside forced to perform for the entertainment of the crowd orcas do sadly get sunburned like us, but we have sunblock to protect ourselves. To cover an orca you need about... I don't know but you do need a whole bunch but that is fair you have to keep your orcas healthy, right SEAWORLD? Nope Seaworld uses Black Zinc Oxide. Now That sound pretty unhealthy for any animal. Some remarks from other animal activists is that seaworld paint them black with this stuff to keep them looking nice for the crowd. Which is pretty messed up. On the other Hand we have WWF. WWF isn't perfect but they are way better than dare I say the name, Seaworld. Their charity are legit and they keep their animals healthy and happy. Some of their gift shops even give some money to charity! Seaworld does help conservation efforts for fish not mammals though. Giving money to animals will help not just you but everyone! It will give more animals and humans a chance to live in our world. Donating to non corrupt charities such as wwf, peta, and others.
