         <description><![CDATA[<div>these several factors can play a role in a person's depression:<br><strong>Biochemistry:&nbsp;</strong>differences in certain chemicals in the brain that can present with depression.<br><strong>Genetics: </strong>Depression has the power to go from person to person. for example, if there is a set of identical twins and one has suffered with depression or is currently suffering with it, the other one is at a 70% chance of also being diagnosed with depression also. <br><strong>Personality:</strong> A person with lower self-esteem, or those who are easily effected by stress, or those who are generally more pessimistic are more likely to present with depression. <br><strong>Environmental Factors: </strong>Those who have had continuous exposure to violence, neglect, abuse and poverty have the ability to make a person more prone to depression. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Medication:&nbsp;</strong>Things such as anti-depressants can be prescribed in a persons treatment plan. however, these medications are not sedatives, or used as tranquilizers. Anti-depressants actually have no stimulating affect on a person suffering from depression.&nbsp;<br><strong>Psychotherapy:&nbsp;</strong>Sometimes used alone for a person with mild depression, but can often be used in cases where medication is involved. Psychotherapy generally only contains one person, but can be used for couples or families.&nbsp;<br><strong>ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy):</strong>&nbsp;Medical treatment commonly used for those who suffer from major depression, but is also used for patients suffering from bipolar disorder also, boy only when they have not responded to any other form of treatment,. ECT includes brief simulations of the brain while the patient is under a form of anesthetic.  generally, a patient endures the simulation at least two to three times a week, and at least six to twelve treatments. </div>]]></description>
