McIntyre served five years as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps, then earned an associate of science degree in criminal justice from Wilmington University. After working a year at the New Castle Juvenile Detention Center, Roy H. McIntyre was hired by the Wilmington Police Department and served in a variety of roles in his nine-year career in law enforcement. Among other titles, Mr. McIntyre was a special federal officer who was part of SWAT, FBI task forces, and a community policing unit. He retired with a pension in 1999 and began working as a construction supervisor with New Castle County. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. McIntyre was a delivery driver for Mattress Giant and an auto detailer for Winner Automotive. His experience in auto detailing led him to start his own business, Delaware Detailing and Cleaning Services, where he has served as CEO for the past 14 years. In that time, Mr. McIntyre's company has expanded its offerings to include cleaning services for hospitals, office buildings, and day care centers. In addition to his professional pursuits, Roy H.
