Kassaverie was a nice experience and tasty too if i may add :D...To see people working great stuff in modest conditions is always great to see. What i loved the the most was how humble they are and how they love what they do. Every country have some specialty and Kassav is one of Guadelopupe finest. What i learned is that with minimum resources you can make something that is recognized all over the world.

As per Simon Thurley's (2005) Heritage Cycle, I have noticed that circle figure plays big part in Guadeloupean culture. Creole language was on a verge of disappearing, as local's were enjoying of having the unique language, now they have understood the importance of the heritage, therefore they are valuing the importance of it and nowadays they are caring for it by teaching the new generation of Creole language. It seems that the circle of life is playing a big and important part in Guadeloupean heritage, and the uniqueness of kassaverie making will be carried onto further generations.

Bread and all of its kinds plays a central role to all cultures. In traditional culture it is handmade. People used what they had available to make it. And making bread was big procedure. Kassaverie was a very pleasant and interesting surprise, somehow as if we were back in time. It seems that some things never change, fortunately!

The cassava is so delicious that you should taste it at least once during your stay in Guadeloupe. It requires real craftmanship to make, that only the locals know how. The family of Anna is such a family. Keep the tradition alive and pass it to the next generation. It is worthwhile to visit their cassavarie to see first hand how it is produced and learn its story.
