I've always found two subjects as a comfort to me in hard times, that being both space and classical music. With the ambition to become an astronautical engineer, I've constructed a rocket on my wall relief, not only to demonstrate my love for aerospace engineering and space, but have it set in ignition to demonstrate how I used it to escape, as though having the ability to feel free in expression. Though, much like accurate rocketry, I will move my ambitions forward on the aligned path the rocket shall hopefully guide. I've then created a bird carrying a melodious staff portraying a very rough section of a classical melody I've written. In synchrony to that of the rocket, this too acts as a way to present how I soared when it came to classical music, and felt entirely free in the bliss of melody, like a bird grasping the staff in a knot, with the melody trailing behind it as it soars. If I were to give my piece a name, I would call it "Flight of the Belittled", for I've been attacked, scarred, and belittled by who I once called my father, and belittled I've been – especially in consideration to that of my last name, Little – and this piece demonstrates my sources of comfort and freedom in times that I hadn't have had any; A flight of escape, a flight of freedom, a flight to which my passions for classical music and science will direct me as though it is always there for when I need it.
