My fierce padlet by https://padlet.com/barbara_stoeckel_clayton/f7tup24kkcuc Made with ♥ en-us 2017-05-08 02:05:51 UTC 2017-05-08 05:04:00 UTC hello@padlet.com Hi All My DoEWA employment goes back to 1975: aged 17 as an AIEO for 5 years in home town of Mullewa birthplace Geraldton, moved to Perth and completed primary school teacher training at Mt Lawley Teacher's College now Edith Cowan Uni, commenced classroom teaching, plus had admin roles from 1984-2001 in the Kimberley Region where I received the Outstanding Aboriginal Educator Award, moved to Perth 2001-2005 as a founding teaching for Moorditj Noongar CC and also had a stint as acting D/Principal and Principal plus gained my Senior Teacher II status, then won L6 Community Consultant position in Aboriginal Education Central Office 2006 - 2008, but went back to school as GiRLN Specialist teacher Moorditj Noongar CC 2009 - 2010, now in my seventh year Regional Consultant Aboriginal Education North Metro Region based at Stirling Office. I love teaching and intend to go back some day and therefore want to keep updated in our educational practices and changes. But for now I oversee Aboriginal Education in 100+ schools in NM region and line manage and work closely with two Coordinators Aboriginal Education. I try never miss an opportunity to learn more, increase my knowledge and grow in my profession. Previously in my teaching career I have not been so fortunate to work with a group of Aspirant Aboriginal Teachers as there weren't many of us around and I look forward to learning and moving forward with you all. I truly believe Education is the key to making change and can't stress this enough to our young people of today. About me, I am a proud Nanda nyarlu-woman from the Northampton - Kalbarri area and love my beautiful country and return often to feel the bunna-earth my country beneath my feet as I now live in Perth. I have two sons and six grandchildren. I love our ancient Aboriginal culture and embrace every opportunity to showcase it in schools. I feel a little apprehension about doing the course but will give it my best shot.
