Parents of new students were asking if the results of the Cat 4 Assessments can be shared with them? They are keen.

Parents appreciate the rich learning engagements, student-centred teaching & learning approach and differentiation practices in place.

Most students were reasonably prepared and able to lead the conference. They showed some reflective thinking.

1 parent thought their son should be able to hit back. Another thought that it wasn't fair to use sticks (sometimes) to choose people to respond to questions - apparently that is demotivating to students who want to answer.

Parents were asking about the possibility of wider sports and library offerings in Primary ex. Primary sports teams, reading lists, writing/reading contests, author visits, expanded reading catalogue

Almost a 100% participation of parents in the conferences.

Parents were willing to actively listen to their child. Children were courageous in presenting their goals and showing parents the stations.

Overall, all is good. Some parents come late due to being delayed in other classes (those who have siblings in our school).

A lot of parents are wandering around the school looking for teachers😅

Parents were excited to see their child's progress so far. Students were eager to share their work with their parents. Most of them were appreciative and expressed they were happy to see that their child comes happy to school, and they are sad when we have days off. Goals were set and agreed upon mutually. :)

Parents as well as Children were quite supportive in making this PYP conference a success.Mostly signed the Consent Form.

Respecting the time slots

Most of them showed up on time and respected the scheduled time for their meeting. One of them though came at the end of her scheduled time and was unhappy when offered another free time slot.

Overall experience was very good. It was great to see everyone happy to come for the conference and meet with us. Thankful for the parent support!

Some parents wants to have 3 minutes from class to class, in order to have time for toilet and other personal needs.

One parent thinks that Albanian class have to be done before lunch, not later on. Not enough concentration to face the subject.

Through tests results students could show their learning. Parents were interested in continuing the work done in the Albanian class, being aware of the difficulties in international schools.

The meetings with the parents went well. They were happy mostly because the kids are happy to come to school every day. They were punctual and respectful of each other's schedule. It's a delightful experience to see the parent's happiness to witness their child's progress academically and socially.

Parents and students were excited to meet and collaborate. Parents appreciated seeing their child's work and were open to discussing goals and improvements to be made. I noticed that with the 2 day schedule there was less stress with the schedule and parents seemed happy that they had scheduled times with all of the teachers.

One parent brought up the use of Teams to assign work. She was curious how this is used in Secondary to make sure that Grade 5 students are prepared for next year.

A few parents mention the fact that the Albanian culture is more aggressive, how they are taught to be outspoken and fight back but how they do not want their child to continuously exposed to violence and what the school actually had in place to combat bullying on a day to day basis.

The meetings went well. However, I think there needs to be a better way of scheduling the meetings in future. The parents should not be able to access and change the excel spreadsheet continuously as there were numerous issues with this. Additionally, they could make changes on the go and some just changed their booking on the day. Perhaps the parents should state which times and dates suit them and give us their first second and third choice. We try to accommodate them as best as possible and then we send out the schedule that is confirmed.

Day 2 went better than day 1. However, I think that if there are siblings that are having meetings and the parents have to go to both the teachers need to be mindful of this fact and keep to the scheduled times so as not to allow for tardiness in other meetings and delays for other teachers.

Overall day 2 went well. It was busier and a bit more hectic with schedule changes happening yesterday afternoon and throughout the day. Parents seemed to have a positive attitude and were open-minded to listening to the student's reflections and work.

Most parents expressed that students started doing their work independently at home most of the time this academic year and they attribute this habit to school and teachers. They are happy about this change.

The “Meet the Teacher” event was challenging, as many parents had concerns. However, this conference went well! I checked in with the parents to see how they were feeling now, they expressed that they felt more reassured and positive about the classroom situation.

Today went well too, although busier. Students enjoyed sharing what they are doing in class with the parents and discussing their goals.

A parent was strongly concerned about German class. She believes nothing is getting done as her child does not know any German after all this time. She has told her child that he can just play in German class as there is obviously nothing important happening. We encouraged her to meet with the German teacher discuss the curriculum and content with the teacher

Parents say they are a bit confused with the number of apps being used in class (seesaw, reading A-Z, myimaths, managebac etc) and by the school in general.

They have been told that an email will be sent from class about different apps and the way they are being used in class and school.

The meetings with parents were very positive. Both parents and students were pleased with the progress in French class, and students had the opportunity to proudly share what they have learned so far. Parents expressed a strong interest in supporting the work being done, showing an appreciation for the unique challenges of learning in an international school setting and understanding that French is taught only twice a week.
