Disney's latest live action remake is a wonderful trip down memory lane, but it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. It follows the animated feature line for line, but with extra scenes and songs to try and deepen the story a little. Those added details don't really go anywhere though, which is an unfortunate missed opportunity when you have such fascinating source material to work with. Getting to see these timeless characters reenacted with today's talent was also a lot of fun, and though they do look the part, their singing voices were tainted with heavy doses of autotuning, and some just lacked energy all together. It felt as if the filmmakers were holding themselves back from making a more fleshed out version of the animated feature, but it was still highly entertaining. The stunning visuals, all star cast, and added details and songs make the story feel new again for today's audiences, but in the end, it reminds me why the first one was so brilliant to begin with.
La Belle et la Bete – in English, and in our time, translates to Beauty and the Beast – started as a traditional French fairy tale, then in 1991, the imaginary mind of Walt Disney transformed the classic fairy tale into a full length animated movie and now 26 years later that old French fairy tale is now a live action film telling that old tale in a new time. From the cast of the beautiful Emma Watson (Harry Potter Series) to the gorgeously talented Audra McDonald to the ever-witty Josh Gad and then there was Gaston (Luke Evans). The characters have lived on in the hearts of believers for almost 277 years since that little French fairy tale came into existence. This new and innovative way of telling an old story in a new and inventive time has lived on over the centuries and decades. I know that, without a shadow of a doubt, that this old but classic love story will forever be in the hearts and the minds of the believers, it's not an old tale any more, it's a new way of believing in the impossible, it's about believing in the heart.
When I heard of a live-action for this I was expecting it to follow a different story line and end up being bad. I was wrong anyway. The movie reminded me of the animated which I loved. The casting was great and well it was far better than I expected. It was captivating and the story kept us bonded. It had a very happy ending ,in all it was fun.

I don't know why many others hate it but give it a chance. Not only did it bring the animated movie to life but also added some little more background. The movie deserves more.
