The time had come for me and Buzz to make history. Buzz was so excited to walk on the moon however, I was focusing more on landing than walking on the moon. I had the chance to go off The Eagle first and set up the camera that took pictures of the moon. I stepped down on the cushiony surface when the thought of seeing the Earth and seeing everyone on there except for three people shocked me. However, I was still a little shaken up by the rising problem of a possible explosion. After landing the pressure changed drastically which sparked an opportunity for an explosion. Eventually we had figured out how to fix the problem and me and Buzz continued on to our mission on the moon. On the other hand, me and Buzz were bazzled by what we we had just accomplished earlier this day. We snapped some pictures, put up the flag, played around on the moon for a minute jumping, and collected science experiment materials, then set off back to The Eagle to return home.

I have a pretty successful life. When I was 16 I got my pilot license. I could fly a plane before I could drive. Crazy right? I always had my interest in being the controls man in an aircraft or something that flew in the air. In fact, I got a Navy scholarship at Purdue University which led to me being a fighter pilot in the Korean war. There is just something that fascinates me with being in the sky. My parents were indeed proud of me that's for sure. However, I think my parents wanted me to learn to drive before a plane but you know me full of surprises. I can't wait to go on the Gemini 8 launch. I mean this is what I've been preparing for after all this time. I can make history.

After Apollo 11 launch and my retirement.

After the Apollo 11 launch me and Buzz were so happy and proud of ourselves for making history. Once we got back we had to quarantine for three weeks because we had contracted a mysterious space virus. It was rough not being able to see my family and friends right after the mission. The quarantine of me and Buzz and 13 others felt so long after being in space. I was so anxious for the three weeks to be over so that I can go see my family. I knew that after my quarantine though myriad of interviewers would be waiting to interview and take pictures. I mean it was cool being one of the people to be in space on the moon. It blows my mind just thinking about it. During one of the interviews I was asked how it felt to have my foot print on the moons surface. It was an incredible thought however, I wish that someone would go up to the moon and take them away. I retired from an astronaut for NASA to being a college professor. I also went into the business world. Some of you ask if I continued my interest. The answer is yes. After my retirement I studied space and aeronautics as I still like space and seeing what I saw had pulled me more into the subject. After all I still did like flying in the sky. I much enjoyed my time in space, in Navy academy, and pilot school. I shall continue my interest in space and study more about it as a person who had experienced space itself.
