Henry Morton Stanley was born in Denbigh, Wales during the 1840's. He always wanted a life as an adventurer and King Leopold II gave that chance to him. Stanley went on a cruise with 356 but only 114 survived the trip. This was not a big impact on his life and quest because all this man wanted was to be respected. As Stanley explored the Congo after a long trip, he took orders from King Leopold II to trick the native leaders and this led to them being under his control. He abused and killed the women and children of men not willing to work. He beat down the hope of workers and spread sickness and diseases around the Congo. He ordered his army to kill and bring back the hands of people who rebelled back. Overall he lead the largest killing of 10 million people all did it all for fame and glory.

Henry Morton Stanley is responsible for the deaths of about 10 million Congolese people because he wanted fame and glory. Stanley climbed the ranks and explored the Congo, not for its peace with the people and to make new adventures. But for its resources and to be seen and be famous In-front of powerful men. Another reason for the murder of 10 million people was him not standing by but doing the wrong thing. This impacted the Congolese people because he was the one who gave the orders to kill and beat the natives down. This man was the one who brought out the orders king Leopold ll wanted. Finally the last reason was Stanley wanted riches and treasure. He killed millions for their resources and natural gifts. He was rewarded by this by King Leopold ll to take what he wanted and kill or beat down the Congolese people.
