With fewer cars running on gasoline or diesel, less pumped emissions will reach the atmosphere.  The most notable attribute of electric cars is their respect for the environment. They boast of having zero carbon dioxide emissions, so environmental pollution is minimal. This is contrary to cars with internal combustion engines, which emit about 20% of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
