We all struggled with the long essays that heavily affected our grade. We thought short timed writes were pretty easy. We tried our best with the long essays even though they were stressful. We all loved "To Kill a Mockingbird"  and believe reading it was one of the highlights of the year. "Macbeth" one was not one of our favorites. We enjoyed reading for the story line but not necessarily all the work that came with it. With the OREO books we were able to choose a book that we wanted and enjoy it. We all felt that not having to worry about printers and ink was very relieving. Also, everyting we needed could be found at home in the English 2h toolbox. On the other hand, some of us who weren't that comfortable with technology found the padlets and blogs challenging, but overtime we got better. There were many collaborative projects such as the ones for Macbeth and Night. We felt these helped us get used to the many times during college and work where these skills would come in handy. In today's world, technology plays a more important part in work. This class with an almost daily use of Chromebooks certainly got us more comfortable with that idea.- Matt Held

Scholarly habits are really important to have because you must use your time wisely with six different classes. Having an agenda helped a lot because we were able to see what we needed to get done without forgetting. Just look at the voyage broad! Also packing all our materials the night before school was helpful because we didn’t have to rush in the morning. We set goals so that we can strive to do better. We are able to question, agree, and argue during discussions we had. We always thought of the bigger picture and connect everything to real life. Schoology has helped us answer our classmates questions and have an idea of what other people are thinking of. Creating and promoting our blogs was something new we experienced. Writing is like peeling the onion and getting to that strong core analysis. You have to think outside the box and add make it relate it to the outside world. When writing you must prove to the reader why what you're writing matters. We accomplished this throughout the year by writing a says/means/matters in everything we write. By the use of this repetitive structure, we got the practice we needed to improve.
