They provided Cuba with Soviet weapons, including nuclear weapons. Kennedy warned Cuba that the U.S would not tolerate any offensive nuclear weapons. In Oct. 14, the U.S planes had taken pictures that showed missile basses in Cuba that contained missiles that were ready to laugh. So, the U.S. decided to take action and fight the Soviet Union to try and stop them from launching the missiles.

Mele
Apr. 17 1961
1,300 to 1,500 Cuban exiles were supported by the U.S. military at the southern coast at Bahia de Cochinos, the Bay of Pigs. There was an air strike that had failed when they wanted to knock out the Cuban air forces, but the CIA said that it succeeded. A small group had then went to go distract Castro's forces but they never reached him, so when the main commando unit landed, they had to face 25,00 Cuban troops which were backed up by Soviet tanks and jet aircrafts. Leaving some of the troops invading exiles killed while others were imprisoned.

It's mostly the U.S.'s fault, since they wanted to trained by the U.S. military to take over Cuba, but then again the USSR was with Cuba, helping them defend their country.

The USSR was ready to back North Korea with military supplies and money. In 1950 North Korea makes a surprise attack on South Korea and make quick advances into South Korea. The Nationalists heavily relied on the US while the Communists relied on the Soviet. Eventually, the Communists gained wide spread support in China and eventually a majority of China was under communist control.

The conflict in China was manipulated by both the US and Soviet. Each backed and supported a side and hoped that their side would win. Again, this is a Soviet vs US conflict. Whoever would win this would be more powerful. This was mostly started by the Soviet and their idea of communism. Without the Soviet wanting to spread communism, then most likely this revolution within China wouldn't have happened.

Thus getting Japan to surrender and bringing a close to the war.

The Soviet and other US allies didn't know the US had an atomic bomb. This made the Soviet angry and distrust the US for being secretive. The Soviet then began creating their own atomic weapons to try and look as powerful as the US. Roosevelt went to the Black Sea resort city of Yalta in the Soviet Union to meet with Churchill and Stalin. The three had toasted to the defeat of Germany. After the small victory, they had discussed the fate of Germany and the postwar world. This had went on for 80 days. Roosevelt hoped that the Soviet Union would stand by to their commitments and join them in the war against Japan which was still happening in the Pacific. Secondly, Roosevelt wanted Stalin's support for a new World Peace keeping organization.
The Yalta conference produced a series of comprises: Pacifying Stalin, Roosevelt convinced Churchill to agree to a temporary division of Germany into 4 nations, one for the Americans, the British, the Soviets, and the French.

In the Yalta Conference, the Allies and Stalin had agreed to split Germany. The Allies took the Western region of Germany while Stalin took the Eastern side. Stalin had also promised free election to Germany, but ended up breaking the promise. His approach towards Germany was also very harsh since he wanted to divide German's occupation zone, so that Germany wouldn't threaten the Soviet Union anymore. With Stalin's approach, Churchill had to strongly disagree with it while Roosevelt tried his best to change his mind and get him in a peacemaking program. With this, USSR has was a bit more responsible than the US.
