As employees, they have benefits for working for the company. Taking away an item from the benefits package must be explained to the workers and see what their opinion about it is. You should have a formal tone when talking to your workers because you want them to understand the situation and why we should cancel the membership. 
(External audience) Gym: You will have to inform the gym about the situation the  company is in and see if they are okay with cancelling the membership. Sometimes companies have contracts where you can't cancel a membership so you will have to talk to the gym about it. The tone will also be formal for this because you are the CEO, representing the company as a whole, and you should be able to convince the gym why we need to cancel the membership.
