These tasks promote learner autonomy, motivation, and digital literacy in English learning.

A written reflection on the evolving role of English teachers in the digital age. It promotes a more flexible, innovative, and student, centered teaching approach.

I talk about the article in the guide:

The essay explores how artificial general intelligence(AI) has the potential to alter education, particularly in respect of how teaching might be reinterpreted. It can think, learn, and solve problems like a person in any subject, unlike today's limited AI. It means that technology can modify classes for each student, evaluate tasks with surprising accuracy, and even give real-time feedback, allowing teachers to put more of their time to mentoring rather than lecturing.

But Yolcu also addresses some ethical issues raised by the incorporation of AI in the classroom, given that it is known to be vulnerable to programming and lacks the human element that is the essence of human beings. Furthermore, issues such as the aforementioned, namely algorithmic bias, student data privacy, and the potential replacement of teachers, must be carefully considered

As an English teacher, I believe AI can change the way we teach, but for the better. Instead of just reviewing grammar and vocabulary, we can use this technology to make classes more interactive and interesting, giving students immediate, automatic feedback, something that is almost impossible for a teacher in classrooms of 40 to 47 students, as is the case in public schools. The almost automatic feedback provided by technological tools would help students use English in real time. We as teachers can make learning feel more human. Imagine AI helping with pronunciation, correcting spelling mistakes, or even acting as a conversation partner. But the point is, teachers are irreplaceable. We are the ones who make learning feel human, more warm, whether it's deciphering cultural references, pushing students to think more deeply, or simply being there to encourage them. The future isn't about fighting AI; It's about working with it, ensuring that it is used fairly and accessible to all.
