I feel as if the upper class people I've seen in these videos are people I would not like to associate my self with. they are stuck and snooty with no intentions on caring about whats on the inside more or less of whats on the outside. Plus I don't understand the controversy with the logo on the belt buckle. In what sense does any of that make. the women was teaching that other women to be something she isn't and changing herself for the worse and not for the better. This is why our society is the way it is now because we grew up learning to "stay in your lane" and not mess up the status quo.

Overall, the American Dream is a simple yet complex concept. The dream is believed to be the base of societal class separation, and how a person can overcome so much to become successful. Within the pieces we read and viewed, I'd say that the concept is still live and well today. For example, in the "Affluenza" articles, it was revealed that a boy who had rather wealthy parents was barely charged with anything for his accounts of man slaughter, severe impairment, and speeding that resulted in the death of four, and severe brain damage to two. What does this mean? It means that no matter what, money always talks. Even though the judge said it had nothing to do with her decision, he was diagnosed with "Affluenza" a condition apparently inherited from children who have had refulgent and successful parents and life events. Another example to demonstrate that the dream is alive and well, is the fact that videos that illustrate how to try to "fit in" still exist, demonstrating proper speech, dinner etiquette, and what to dress. The lower class always will try to be higher, to make themselves feel as if they are on top, and not on the bottom as they subconsciously know.

I think that upper class people defiantly think of themselves as more important then the average person. They think that they deserve more privileges because they have more money, Example: "Affluenza Teen". Just because they have money it shouldn't mean that they can use it as an excuse to cheat their way out of a crime. I do not think that this is at all what the American Dream should be based upon.

Part of the American dream is that you will be able to succeed if you put forth the effort and work hard. I believe that today it is not easy to change social classes, but that hasn't stop people from doing it anyways. Perhaps, because of how the upper class people think so highly of themselves, it is much harder now to change social class then it was when America was little more than just a dream.

There is no definite answer to what the American Dream really is, but I believe that everyone has their own ideas of the American Dream. Maybe the American Dream has to do with moving up in social class, maybe it is about being wealthy, but the question is how do we really achieve that dream? If moving social class is the American Dream, what determines our social class? I think that everyone has a chance to make themselves wealthy in the world, with government providing financial assistance and so fourth, almost all of us have access to achieving that fortune or something that is close to it. Although, our social class is what determines who the people around us are, and I think that loving the people who are around you is what makes people feel good. People in the upper class may feel that they are more important and play a bigger role in the world than others, but is that because of their social status? Or is it because they have the money to do whatever they want? It is stated that the person that we are is what determines our social status, but I find that hard to believe because of the attitude of the people who are granted riches. Our social values in society as a whole are both almost impossible to determine, and impossible to explain.

I believe some people who were either born into high social classes or made their way into high social classes feel like they are above everybody else and should be entitled to special things. When in reality no matter how much money you make, how you act or dress, everybody should be treated the same and no one should judge someone until proven otherwise.

I believe all classes are entitled to their opinions and or actions. Yes, most rich people are looked at as "snobby" or "arrogant". But, most people in the lower classes don't realize they are judgmental and rude themselves. Human and animals have characteristics. Everyone has their own views and perceptions on how they think things should go. Not everyone's the same. We all have different ways we were brought up and separate mentalities.

I think that affluenza is for the weak, for the people that can't admit to what they have done because they don't want to be in trouble. Also that money should never be a part of the law at anytime that someone has killed even one other person. It's pathetic that the rich or upper class people get a slap on the wrist when they do something wrong even if it is 🤬 someone. The people in the video are very judging and don't like to be around "poor" people as they would say, which I think is why they only can be around other judging people.

You are who you are. You make the decisions you make no matter how you were raised. Everyone has ethics and everyone has morals, everyone knows the difference of right from wrong. I do not think that you make bad decisions just because you were raised with little discipline. I do not believe that you make poor decisions based off of if you are rich or poor. If you have done something you know is wrong like drinking and driving and you 🤬 someone while doing that then you are in the wrong, you deserve to be punished. Everyone deserves the same punishment no matter their social class, no matter how they were raised, and no matter their wealth.

I feel like we may not say that we use social class as much anymore, which we don’t, but it’s still there. The upper class people that we saw in the video are not people that seem very friendly, rather than they want everything perfect. In the last video the guy mentioned he doesn’t believe anyone can change what social class they are born into, but I highly disagree. People can go down in social class just as they can go up.

He because you hurt people emotional. They lost some one they love for a stupid decision that a 16 year old kid made. He ruined peoples lives for that a doesn't get the same punishment as a person would if they don't have "affluenza" or the amount of money that the family has.

I think that the social classes are still sort of in affect today, maybe not as bad as the evil older ladies in the videos but slightly still part of it. In one of the last videos the girls talk about how the upper class people can tell when you are lower than they are, you have to stand a certain ways away from each other and the colors and brands you do and don’t wear is just crazy! So they try to act as they are a higher class then what they really are it’s all about appearances to everyone and it somewhat does relate over to today’s expectations, many people are still very conscientious about the things they wear and do and what people will think. It’s all about he branding.
