But songs aren't the only sources of music for the Jewish religion, instruments also contribute to Jewish music in a big way.
A shofar is a very important instrument. It is a hollowed out ram's horn that is blown on the holidays of Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashana. It is like a bugle meaning that there isn't anything that can change the pitch. Another important Jewish instrument is the kinnor. It is like the modern day harp and is the national Jewish instrument. They are found on the Bar Kochba coins. Bar Kochba coins were the coins that were used during the Bar Kochba revolt against the roman empire during 132-135 AD.

      1. Torah means teaching. The Torah consists of the five books of the Hebrew bible. The Torah contains all Jewish laws that must be followed in the religion.
    2. Prophets
      1. There are many important prophets and figures that are very important to Jewish history. The most popular of these prophets include:
        1. Moses
        2. Abraham
        3. Sarah
    3. Writings
      1. Writings are pieces of literature in the Tanach, or prophecies, or Torah scrolls
  • Talmud
    1. Means to study. The Talmud is a series of books that have interpretations of the Torah. The Talmud covers everything in the Torah extensively, and 
  • Bar/Bat Mitzvah
    1. Bar/Bat Mitzvahs signify coming of age in the Jewish religion or being a religion-wise adult.

    Orthodox Jews separate the men and women when they sit for the service. Reform Jews sit together. 
    The services are usually led by a rabbi but it can also be led by a cantor or a member of the congregation. 
    Orthodox Jews have the service take place with no singing and they have it in ancient Hebrew.
    When in a synagogue, single women tend to not wear hats while men always have to wear hats called a Kippah.
    Synagogues have more than one name like temples and shuls. 
    Synagogues have Torah scrolls that are written in Hebrew. When the scrolls aren’t being used they are kept in a special cabinet called an ark. Jewish children must learn Hebrew when they are between the ages of 12 and 13. Boys have Bar mitzvahs when they are 13 but girls have Bat mitzvahs when they are 12 and at their bar/bat mitzvah and after they have the religious responsibility of an adult.
    The largest synagogue in the world is in Jerusalem and was completed in 2000. It can seat more than 5,000 people.

During the prayer service, a ram's horn is horn is usually blown to symbolically “wake up:” people to make them think that about how to get better lives. They have many traditional foods at Rosh Hashanah like apples and honey that symbols of a sweet new year, Chicken liver and schmaltz pate, matzo balls, and much more.
    Passover celebrates G-d’s rescue of the ancient Israelites from slavery in Egypt during ancient times.  It is a seven-day celebration that takes place usually in March or April. You fast for a week and on the seventh day you eat a giant meal with your family and it had different foods that are symbolic of the history of pass over.

The Israelites didn’t see their leaders as g-ds. They believed that there was only one G-d. Even the kings had to obey G-d’s laws and teachings. Judaism teaches that G-d considers all people equal.
    There are many stories that the Hebrew Bible teach about treating everyone fairly. One passage says “You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor.” Caring for the less fortunate is a very basic idea in Judaism.
