The reason why this matters is because this explains the mentality of the Macedonian empire after Alexander the great took over.

He decided to hold a mass wedding and ordered his Macedonian Officers to marry Persian Princesses. Many refused in which he took the action of kicking his Macedonian Officers and bringing in Persians. However some did decide to marry and had children.

Alexander left behind his legacy, fortune, and land that he conquered. Explorers in general either want to find things (Christopher Columbus) or they want to conquer as much land as possible (Alexander The Great).

In the end, everyone has their own reasons for exploration whether it be money, faith, curiosity or other faction
