One of the characters from the prologue whose character doesn't match, what you would expect from their title, I would have to say 'The Pardoner.' My expectation for 'The Pardoner', when we first started reading him would be about this caring Priest that helps the people to come clean with their sins and be accepted by God. But in reality his a Priest with an evil side, he doesn't care about helping the sinners all he cares about is get the money for himself and singing. He is also very dishonest with the people and the church, and his very greedy.

The author introduces him as a person who works for the church, describes his hair color etc. Honestly, if you imagine someone that works for the church you wouldn't think that they would be liars but you would also think that a person of a church wouldn't steal or hear people out of money, in this case which of both he does.
