n Paul's time, Rome controlled much of the world due to their strong army combined with the control and power they had over all regions. Although Rome controlled much of the world, there was still different cultural groups including the Jewsish, Hebrew and Arabic cultures. This, then lead a variety of language being spoken, mainly Hebrew and Aramaic. People and goods were transported by either foot or by donkeys. They traded goods to collect better things, it was believed that they used a such thing as a ‘road’. Many main regions including Rome, Jerusalem, Turkey, Ephesus, and Corinth were very spiritual cities as many high people in religion – our days – would come and visit.

The conversion of Paul was extremely significant, because when he was getting converted, God blinded him for three days straight. It was believed that Paul’s original name was Saul, which, then during his conversion he changed his name to Paul. He changed his name as before his conversion he was the one that would chuck all the Christian believers in jail. So, changing his name would then let him be re-birthed into the world.

Although Paul’s first journey wasn’t as long as the other, this journey was significant as he went and preached to many Jews and Gentiles. As Paul was already working with the Gentiles he convinced them that every Jew and Gentiles must hear about Jesus and what he did for us. He intensely argued for his point to be right at the Council of Jerusalem.

Each letter Paul wrote had a purpose and a meaning behind it. Most of the letters were written about how Jesus saved every person that believed in the lord. The main message of the the letters is about following Jesus and about how affective his conversion was. Pau,l also known as Saul prior to his conversion, was a Jew like many of the people in that time were. Although, Paul hurt anyone that believed or followed in Jesus and would put them in jail.

As Paul grew into the ritual of Christianity, many cultural challenges occurred. Paul revealed that his real name was Saul, in his epistles to Rome (Romans 2:28-29) it explained how "A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly". From what has been told it showed the way he lived and the way he started to act, people came to the point to actually liking for being a better person. Knowing that this is Paul's life, you really try to think about how you can change into a better person no matter how bad your past was. Although, Paul's past was quite horrific and disturbing Paul has definitely rose from his mistakes.

One message that stood out to me in his letters, was when Paul sent a letter to the Romans. The purpose of this letter was to share Paul's faith and teachings to the Jews and Gentile Christians. It was known that the letter also told the Romans to love unconditionally regardless of their beliefs, This resulted in his imprisonment.

Although, understanding why Paul has became a Saint and how he successfully bought the message of Jesus to many individuals. Many people are still left considering "why did he become so important to the Church?" His importance stems from his conversion from Saul to Paul, this showed God's almighty power to forgive and welcome home all of his followers.

However, I am still left hesitant on the idea that this saint begun his life throwing Christians in jail due to their conflicting beliefs. How was he able to transform his life so much that he can now be labelled a saint?
Why was Paul picked over Christians who have been followers of Christ since the beginning?

Paul's message and story's helped many individuals be more aware that they can alway change into a better person. You can also do better even if your past is unfortunate, you don't have to let your questionable choices in the past reflect on your future opportunities. There is always something you can do to enhance your life and become an improvement of yourself.
