The kids relationship is like they can count on each other, like when Carly tried to cheer Harvey up when he was in the hospital. Eventually she did cheer him up by getting him a puppy. Thomas J would always be there for them because he enjoyed helping people.

My Recommendation / Book Review

I recommend you read The Pinballs Because it is a sad story because kids have to go to a foster home, also how Harvey just sits there lifeless it's like he doesn't want to live or go to the doctor to get help. It's also happy because, when harvey got the puppy he was super happy and not depressed and unlife like anymore.
If you like sad startings of a story but a happy ending this would be the book for you.

The Social issue is that parents have problems and sometimes can't care for their kids because of this problem. Thomas J when he was just like two years of age his mother and father dropped him of at the benson's farm. Carly Parent's had a problem with their behavior, Harvey Dad had a problem with not keeping promises
I feel like the social issue is Parents having problems with their behavior at home
