In Ancient Greece, a very skillful poet named Homer wrote the epic poems titled the Iliad and the Odyssey.  The Iliad described the years ending the Trojan War. The Odyssey revealed a big adventure of a warrior named Odysseus who was traveling home from the Trojan War and had to face monsters along the way. Homer was such a great poet and explained these epic adventures so well, that historians today easily understood what was happening.
