We did an activity where we took turns in pairs telling and listening to each other's stories

- It taught me more about how to have a respectful conversation with someone

Learnt about the ISLET template

Analysed a conversation between Mr Lawrence Wong and some Singaporean youth

- He had a respectful conversation with the youth

Did a similar thing within the group with the prompt of "In Year 2040, it takes you and your family S$1 million to buy a new 5-room HDB flat (BTO)."

- We shared our opinions within the group, listening respectfully to each other

Watched a video by Community Chest Singapore and analysed it to learn more about the different perspectives of people.

Learnt about what can influence different perspectives (e.g Definition, Cultural Frames, Personal Experiences, Situational Context)

Read an article and tried to dissect it based on the 4 levels

Played an activity that helped simulate tackling a national issue while seeing it from the different levels

Played an activity that made me think on a deeper level on what my identity is made up of. Then after that we were made to reflect on how we felt when our identity was taken away from us, compared to when we willingly gave it up.

Watched a video about a stateless person in Singapore, and gained an insight as to what its like to lose a part of your identity.

Learnt more about Personal Manifestos

Graded and compared the Personal Manifestos of 2 students, taking into account what makes a good personal manifesto

Did a draft for my CA that made me think about my identity and the struggles that I faced along with it.

Played an activity that helped us see how often we get stereotyped in our lives.

Learnt more about the different types of bias (e.g conscious, unconscious, confirmation halo effect)

We played a card game that helped simulate global politics.

While i wasnt really involved with the game as I was involved with dealing the resources, it was a lot of fun seeing the reactions from my friends whenever i hunted them for taxes.

it helped me gain more of an insight on global politics and how different countries are richer than others

We had a debrief on the card game from the previous week.

Got started on my groups CA2 presentation

Participated in an online debate on the pros and cons of prioritising underground infrastructure in singapore

I was part of the cons teams and had to research on why building underground infrastructure would be a negative

It was hard as I was initially leaning towards to the more positive side, so it was hard to come up with arguements. but after some research, i found out more about why this could be a negative

I also had to come up with rebuttals for some points from the pro team

Got feedback for my CA1 draft and worked on it using the new things i have learnt

Reflected on the online debate activity

Gained some more insights on the pros and cons of building underground infrastructure

Started working on the draft slides for CA2

Used the new insights from the debate to assist me in my slides

Learnt how to be resilient in view of current and future challenges in Singapore.
