Nobody bothers or cares to learn her name. George thinks she is a “tart” and a “jailbait” and warns Lennie to stay away from her even though she didn’t do anything wrong. 


QUOTES SHOWING SEXISM AGAINST CURLEY’S WIFE
“Married 2 weeks and got the eye? Maybe that’s why Curley’s pants is full of ants” (page 49) This is sexist because it’s accusing Curley’s wife having the eye for everyone on the ranch because she’s a woman. 

“Ranch with a bunch of guys on it ain’t no place for a girl, specially like her” (page 78 George) This shows sexism because it shows that George doesn’t think a woman can cope on a ranch.

This shows that she could have had a brilliant life but she was stook with Curley at the barn house not aloud to talk to anyone.  She clearly states that Curley treats her with disrespect and he doesn’t allow her to express herself and she really dislikes him for that.

Another reason I’ve got for saying that everyone is sexist towards her is when she walks into a room to talk to someone she is always referred to as a ‘female dog’. Which shows the lack of respect people show towards her.

 I also feel rather sad for her the reason for that is that she doesn’t have anyone to talk to, if she walks into a room everyone tells her to go home.

 Another reason I have for saying that people where disrespectful towards her is when she would wear a nice outfit people would call her a ‘tramp’.

The men tell her to go home and Curley doesn’t even care for his own wife. George is told that she’s a “tart” and he just assumes that’s true and tells Lennie not to go near her even though he (Lennie) fancies her. Nobody treats her as a person because she’s a woman.
