Biomedical
People from this school of thought believe that inheritance plays a major role in the development of a disorder.
Evaluation: supports the nature aspect in the nature vs nurture debate. Because this etiology focuses on the genetic make up and how genetics makes people more vulnerable to develop disorders.
It can be called reductionist because there are other factors through which disorders can be developed and the biological approach does not take those into account.
It is deterministic since this sot focuses on the interal functioning of our body and we cannot control that.

Behaviorist
Revised conditioning
An example of a boy crying everytime he saw a white object because he was conditioned to develop that phobia.
They support that one can unlearn phobias through conditioning.
